Shangpa Rinpoche's Long Life Prayer
尊贵的香巴上师的长寿启请文
ཨོྃ་སྭ་སྟི། སྲས་བཅས་རྒྱལ་ཀུན་བསྐྱེད་ཡུམ་བཅོམ་ལྡན་མའི།
OM SVASTI SE CHE GYAL KUN KYED YUM CHOM DEN MEI.
The mother Bhagawan, the source of the Victorious Ones (Buddhas) and also their sons (Bodhisattvas)
མཛེས་སྐུ་ཟླ་གཞོན་གསར་པའི་མཛུམ་མདངས་གང་།
DZE KU DHA ZHON SAR PEI DZUM DANG GANG.
gracefully manifests with a smiling countenance, like a new moon beaming.
དྲེན་པའི་མོད་ལ་རིང་འཚོའི་དཔལ་སྟེར་བ།
DREN PEI MOD LA RING TSHOI PAL TER WA.
and the recollection of Her bestows splendid longevity.
འཆི་མེད་ཡིད་བཞིན་འཁོར་ལོས་ཤིས་པ་རྩོལ།
CHI MED YID ZHIN KHOR LO SHI PA TSOL.
Immortal Yidshin Khorlo (White Tara), kindly grant your Blessings.
ཀརྨ་པར་གྲག་འཇིག་རྟེན་དབང་ཕྱུག་གི།
KAR MA PAR DRAG JIG TEN WANG CHUG GI.
By the wonderful activities of the renowned Karmapa, the Lokeshvara,
ངོ་མཚར་འཕྲིན་ལས་འཁོར་ལོས་བསྒྱུར་བའི་དཔལ།
NGO TSAR THRIN LE KHOR LOE GYUR WEI PAL.
which have nobly governed the world,
འགྲོ་འདུལ་སེམས་དཔའ་མཆོག་གི་གསང་བ་གསུམ།
DRO DUL SEM PA CHOG GI SANG WA SUM.
May you, the embodiment of the three secrets of the exalted Bodhisattvas,
འགྱུར་མེད་རྡོ་རྗེའི་ངོ་བོར་བརྟན་བཞུགས་གསོལ།
GYUR MED DO JEI NGO WOR TEN ZHUG SOL.
the Saviour of all beings, stay in this world, like the unchangeable nature of the Vajra.
བསན་བསམ་སྒོམ་པས་མཁྱེན་རབ་ལང་ཚོ་རྒྱས།
SEN SAM GOM PE KHYEN RAB LANG TSHO GYE.
By hearing, contemplating and practising, the youthful knowledge blooms;
མཁས་བཙུན་བཟང་པོའི་རྣམ་ཐར་སྲིད་ན་སྙན།
KHE TSUN ZANG POI NAM THAR SID NA NYEN.
and the life stories of the intelligent, diligent and virtuous ones are always popular in this world.
འཆད་རྩོད་རྩོམ་པས་བསྟན་པའི་རྒྱལ་མཚན་འཛིན།
CHED TSOD TSOM PE TEN PEI GYAL TSHEN DZIN.
May you, the embodiment of those who have been expounding, debating and writing;
དོན་གཉིས་ལྷུན་འགྲུབ་ཆེན་པོར་ཞབས་བརྟན་གསོལ།
DON NYI LHUN DRUB CHEN POR ZHAB TEN SOL.
the holder of the victory banner of Dharma, remain in this world, like the two spontaneously arising benefits.
དད་པའི་ཞིང་སར་བཏབ་པའི་སྨོན་ཚིག་འབྲས།
DED PEI ZHING SAR TAB PEI MON TSHIG DRE.
Sown in the field of devotion were the seeds of aspiration prayers which,
བདེན་གནིས་བསླུ་མེད་ཆར་གྱིས་བསྐྱེད་བསྲིང་ཏེ།
DEN NYI LU MED CHAR GYI KYED SING TE.
having been moistened by the rain of the unerring two Truths,
བསྐལ་བཟང་འདོད་འཛོའི་དགའ་སྟོན་ཉིད་དུ་སྨིན།
KAL ZANG DOD DZOI GA TON NYID DU MIN.
have ripened into the joyful wish fulfilling feast for those who are fortunate.
ས་གསུམ་ཕན་བདེའི་དཔལ་གྱིས་རབ་འཚོ་ཤོག
SA SUM PHEN DEI PAL GYI RAB TSHO SHOG.
May you remain in this world for the benefit and support of the three Dhatus.
This long life prayer for Shangpa Rinpoche was requested by the radiant light of the Practice Lineage, the Ven. Tenga Rinpoche, and was written by the Gyal Khampa, Jigdral Yeshe Dorje (HH Dudjom Rinpoche) in the earth horse year, on the 10th day of Trumtod month, near the Aei Temple in Kathmandu.
