Upcoming Kagyu Mönlam, 2007

Sponsoring the Grand One Day Event - 13 Nov 2007

The word Mönlam means: Aspiration. Mönlam is a ceremony during which auspicious prayers of aspiration are recited by a congregation of the most noble Maha Sangha representatives of that particular tradition of Tibetan Buddhism.

In the year of the Fire-Pig (2007), the Karma Kagyud Mönlam will be held in the Bodhgaya: the scared place where Lord Buddha Shakyamuni gained complete Enlightenment. Aspiration Prayers of the Karma Kagyud Lineage will be led by both the Black Hat Lama and the Red Hat Lama: The 17th Gyalwa Karmapa and the 14th Kunzig Shamarpa.

A strong congregation of over a thousand of the most noble community of the Maha Sangha from the Karma Kagyud tradition in the recitation of aspiration prayers to beseech for the purity and continuity of the lineage, that the dharma work of the lineage may prosper and shine forth, for sickness, disease and natural calamities to disappear from the world and for Bodhicitta to grow in the hearts of all sentient beings.

It is the hope of His Holinesses that these wishes be realized thorough gathering the compassion, the wisdom and the strength of their spiritual mandates and that of the holy community coupled with their great conviction and aspiration, they will beseech the blessings from the Buddhas and Bodhisattva's of the ten directions and of the three times.

The chosen place, Bodhgaya is a place whose sacredness surpasses any other. Recitation of aspiration prayers in a place so sacred cleanses away all negativity of all sentient beings and accumulates immense merits.
