About Vision 4 - The Nuns of Tharpa Choeling Nunnery
Let the splendor of snow capped Himalayan mountains, the serene scenic beauty of enchanting Nepal and sounds of Tibetan Buddhist nuns chanting give you an insightful revelation into the rustic simplicity of the lives of The Nuns of Tharpa Choeling Nunnery. Enveloped by majestic snow capped mountains and set in the midst of stunning scenic beauty, The Nuns of the Tharpa Choeling Nunnery lead simple rustic lives of fervent spiritual devotion. This short documentary takes you into a day in the life of a Tibetan Buddhist Nun in the Tharpa Choeling Nunnery. Their days are filled not merely by chanting and prayers; they lead simple rustic lives that are filled with laughter, music, joy, friendship and spiritual solace.
Founded by the Great Yogi Shangpa Rinpoche, the main shrine of the nunnery has recently been rebuilt by the 2nd Shangpa Rinpoche. Rebuilding of the nunnery would not have been possible without the generosity of the disciples and devotees of Shangpa Rinpoche, the leadership and devotion of Shangpa Rinpoche and the blessings from the Triple Gems. It is the personal wish of Shangpa Rinpoche to extend his most sincere and most deep felt gratitude to the generous followers and well-wishers without whom rebuilding of the Nunnery would have been a remote possibility.
In the interest of furthering the academic knowledge of The Nuns of Tharpa Choeling Nunnery, an institute is in the midst of being established on the existing premises so that the Nuns can get a proper education, thereby allowing them to benefit more sentient beings. Due to the remote location of the Nunnery, visitors are few and far in between. This makes the fruition of the Institute a dream far beyond the horizons. However, this noble endeavor is part of Ven. Shangpa Rinpoche's compassionate mission and vision to benefit more sentient beings. Therefore, as Rinpoche's disciples and followers, lets all join Rinpoche in helping the Nuns of Tharpa Choeling Nunnery and contribute in our own individual ways to make this noble vision of our beloved guru a remarkable reality. To help The Nuns of Tharpa Choeling Nunnery realize their dream of obtaining a proper education, kindly refer to: www.shangpa.org for more details.
